Pastor Calvis and Sister Veda Brooks

Pastor Calvis Brooks was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1951. Raised in a God-fearing family, the Lord had His hands upon his life early in his childhood. At the age of eight he was visited by the Lord as he stood on his grandmother's back porch. While looking out over a field, Pastor Brooks saw an open vision of himself standing before a multitude of people. He heard the Lord's voice instructing him to preach His Word. Pastor Brooks received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of seventeen and has since served the Lord faithfully. He met his wife Sister Veda in 1973 and they were married in 1976. He was appointed as the assistant pastor of New Testament Holiness Church in 1974 and became pastor in 1998. He has served in this capacity since 1998. Pastor and Sister Brooks' vision is to reach lost souls for the kingdom of God. The Lord has shown them many visions of souls being harvested in these last days and they have endeavored to follow the leading of the Holy Ghost by standing upon the Word of God and never straying from the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. They work as a team and believe and teach that holy living, fervent prayer, and fasting are the keys to tapping into the power of God. Because of this, God has been moving in the church. Members (and visitors) are receiving a fresh touch of the Spirit, and in keeping the great commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, there has been a renewed desire in the church to reach lost souls. Pastor and Sister Brooks have three children: Cassandra, Trevor, and Chaun. They were brought up in the fear and admonition of the Lord and serve Him faithfully in their lives as well as various roles in New Testament Holiness Church.
